At Summer’s Gate — A Beltane Reflection
Link to tomorrow's Virtual Circle

Dear Ones,
As we enter Summer’s Gate, also known as Beltane (pronounced be-owl-thinna), we gather to celebrate fertility, abundance, and the fruits of the Earth.
“Beltane” means “bright fire”—an invitation to welcome in summer’s passion and the peak solar energy of the year. One of the eight sabbats on the Wheel of the Year, Beltane marks a sacred cross-quarter moment: a powerful threshold between spring’s promise and summer’s fulfillment.
Tending the Fire of Motherhood
In today’s Mamababy Song Circle, we explored how honoring these seasonal turning points—like Beltane and Samhain—gives us a rhythm, a way to slow down and step intentionally into the next season of our lives.
We shared foundational practices that ground us as mothers: the daily rituals that help us move through our days with a sense of connection, inspiration, and direction.
You may be noticing a shift in energy—perhaps feeling slightly “off” or untethered without knowing why. These seasonal thresholds can bring a collective energetic destabilization, like the inner disorientation that comes with moving house. When we know it’s simply the Earth turning her page, we can move with it instead of resisting it.
How do we tend to the fire in our hearts, to our creativity and passion when our lives as mothers ask for us to tend to others with such constancy? Part of learning to live into motherhood as a sacred path is learning how to re-source yourself in those moments when you’re losing connection to your fire. How to tend to the inner hearths—while you’re scrubbing endless dishes and folding your eighth pile of laundry for the day. It’s not easy, but it is worth it. We have to dig deep to connect with the inner wells, so that we don’t burn out.
Welcoming the Wild Summer
As we enter summer in the Northern Hemisphere, may we embrace the fire, passion, fertility, joy, sensuality, and wild eroticism that this season brings. And may we carry winter’s wisdom with us—to rest, to find the pause, the savasana, after all our movement.
Sacred Mothering Virtual Circle
Saturday, May 3, 2025
11:00am – 12:30pm CST
This call will not be recorded
Tomorrow, we gather again—this time in our Sacred Mothering Circle, to share and receive foundational practices for sacred motherhood. We’ll co-create personal intentions—daily ways to touch what is most essential and what nourishes our hearts, creativity, and passion for life.
And of course…
There will be singing.
There is always singing wherever I am circling.

A Note to You, Mama:
If you're feeling the pull to reconnect with your own rhythm, know that you’re not alone. These seasonal portals are ancient invitations to remember what is foundational to your life, to listen deeply, and to move more slowly. Whether or not you can join us live, I hope you find a quiet moment this week to honor your own passage into summer.

All so beautiful!
